Love is in the air... the newest cake toppers are for the lovers!

I am so in love with this couple.  It was so fun watching them come to life.  I had a request from a wonderful couple in the UK to do a topper for their wedding.  The groom is in a smart, pinstripe suit.  The bride is in a beautiful strapless, light ivory dress. I just loved making her long red tresses and his short, spiked hair.

 

There was a small amount of detail work around the neckline that I made to match some of the details of her dress.

  

I really enjoy making toppers that have special meaning to the couple I am making them for.  My hope is that they will always bring fond memories of their special day, for many years to come. 

 

   

Such a great week!

I am really looking forward to spending some time with my family next week.  I have been planning this trip for awhile and can hardly wait to go.  This will be the first time in many years that my sister and I have been able to visit our parents together.  Her, and my lovely nieces, have been on the East Coast for several years.  Now that we are all on the West Coast again, we have managed to carve out some time to spend together. 

If the upcoming trip wasn't enough to be excited about, I also had a couple of my little birds make the front page of Etsy...

I will be taking my camera with me on my trip so I will post some of my shots.  With Spring finally here I know there will be lots to shoot!!

Nothing says 'we're a team' like these mascot cake toppers.

Once again, I have totally slacked on keeping up with my blog.  I have been really busy though, with all of my clients great ideas!  I want to share a few that I have been working on.

 

These were a set of birds that I did for a couple of sports fans.  The groom was made to look like the mascot of the Baltimore Ravens and the bride was made to look like the mascot of the Baltimore Orioles

 

 

 

These were so much fun to make!

 

 

 

This next set is the cutest couple!  I was asked to make a giraffe bride and a penguin groom.  I have never made a giraffe before, but I think that it came out pretty dang cute! 

 

  

 

  

 

I will try to be better about keeping up on things.  I will be heading south to spend some time with my family and am looking forward to the inspiration that will bring!!

Lasting memories of your special day

Wedding cake toppers should be more than just a decoration for the top of the cake, for just one day.  They should be a lasting reminder of that special day that lasts a lifetime.  I love making toppers that are customized just for my customers.  I recently had the opportunity to make the toppers below.

 

I especially like making the bride.  I think it might be due to my love of playing with dolls when I was a young girl.  

Whether it's a man in uniform, or a blushing bride in white, I try to come as close to representing my customers as possible.  These toppers stand just over 7" tall and are incredibly light, weighing just over one ounce each.  They have a wire armature, making them even more durable.  They are truly made to last!
